U.S. Election Information for International Students

Election Day is here, and we wanted to share some information that is important to be aware of as we all prepare for the election. While the U.S. is always tense around election time, the circumstances around this election are unique and special considerations regarding the safety of international students should be made.

We understand that there is a possibility that the results will be questioned and that the final outcome will be decided in court. Local and state law enforcement is preparing for election day tension, and possible civil unrest. While we do not anticipate major problems, it is important to be alert and aware during these unique circumstances. We are not attempting to scare, but to inform international students who may not follow American politics about the events that may be happening across the country during this tense time. We encourage you to follow local and national news to stay informed, and to make sure that you are getting information from a reputable source.
